While controversy increases about the Captain of WEST INDIES T20 CRICKET TEAM DARREN SAMMY'S victory speech yesterday following winning the championship against England, CARICOM emerges the WIND BENEATH THE TEAM'S WINGS in helping to steer their course to victory.
I have read a recent article showcasing the ANGER expressed by the WICB about Darren Sammy throwing them under the bus. Such a quick response indicates guilt and a messy camp that needs urgent cleaning from the head right down to the feet!
This role that CARICOM was allowed to play is indicative of the fact that the WICB (West Indies Cricket Board) has FAILED MISERABLY at the job which they were appointed to do. Their LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES are highly QUESTIONABLE. Another governing regional body has to step up and fight for the team to reach as far as competing in this tournament while the WICB sat back and folded their arms! WOW! What a shame and disgrace. A true LEADER does the duty well of CLEANING UP ALL DIRTY LAUNDRY BEFORE THEY ARE AIRED OUT TO THE PUBLIC RIGHT? Isn't that why most SUPER STARS HAVE MANAGEMENT TEAM who keeps the mess tightly under wraps and deal with any potential elements that can TAINT THE BRAND?? Well it seems WICB did not get that memo. What if the WICB decided not to make the effort at DAMAGE CONTROL because they had already given up on the team's ability to win a game let alone this tournament! Ha ha I guess the WIN CAME AS A SURPRISE TO THEM so too was Sammy's portrayal of them in a poor light which left a bad taste in the world's mouth. Well as a Caribbean people we have been ENSLAVED BY OUR LEADERS FOR TOO LONG INTO THINKING THAT WE NEVER TELL THE LIL DIRTY SECRETS OF OUR OPPRESSORS TO AVOID BEING FURTHER OPPRESSED. Well Darren Sammy has defied the odds and BROKE THIS CHAIN OF ENSLAVEMENT when he chose to GIVE JACK ITS JACKET AND ROVER ITS BONE!

The West Indies Cricket team has spent a period of dry spell in the wilderness of this sport. This was bad news and frustration for the region as the sport has been heralded for a very long time as the only authentic unifying force of Caribbean people. If my memory serves me right it has been years now that they have not been able to regain dominance in INTERNATIONAL CRICKET. They have been mocked by their very own fans for losing many games. Did a miracle happen in 2016? "TRIPLE TREAT" is what many refer to the TURN AROUND IN THE STREAK OF VICTORIES that the 3 categories of West Indies cricket have achieved in 2016. This is certainly a BREATH OF FRESH AIR. CONGRATULATIONS to the team and my fellow CARIBBEAN NATIONALS. DARREN SAMMY EMOTIONAL SPEECH.

I listened carefully to Captain Sammy's speech and I must say my heart broke to learn of the DISRESPECT AND LACK OF FAITH that the WICB has shown toward this team. I personally do not have the back story to the adversities surrounding the team and the board but from what I have heard I was EMBARRASSED that this DIRTY LAUNDRY had to be washed and hang out dry for all of the world to see. Sometimes as embarrassing as a situation may seem THE TRUTH MUST BE TOLD AT SOME POINT. Suffice it to say I can identify from where Sammy was coming. His speech exhibited sadness, lack of faith by the WICB in the team, lack of opportunities for the team to participate in world tournaments, etc. It is unfortunate that the GOVERNING BODY (WICB) that controls the remote to the everything surrounding the team has been the SALT POURED IN THEIR WOUNDS instead of being the medicine of healing. Well Captain Darren Sammy has surprisingly flipped the coin to show WICB who controls the remote to their recent victory! No doubt the WICB will certainly hang its head in shame after being portrayed to the world in this poor and negative light. I was pleased to see Dr. Keith Mitchelle Prime Minister of Grenada & CARICOM being applauded by the captain for having faith in them! The EXECUTIVE of the WICB need to RESIGN as it seems they are not fit to lead West Indies cricket. Could they be the main reason for all or majority of the failure that the team encountered over the years? I hope this global embarrassment will serve to wake them up to leave their positions and appoint new members. The future of WI cricket looks rather dim if this dead horse remains.
