TRINI TRENT/THE LARVA LIZARD

(WRITTEN BY CLAIRON HAYNES)
Nicki was the talk of the day
All had something to say
I headed straight to You Tube
Foh the American Idol fuede
At the first click a de mouse
Who me see outside a he house
A young average-height lad
He wasn't looking too bad

He was taping his video
And boy Nicki had it foh so
Thought he would favour a Trini
But he gave her good and plenty
He began to peel the truth
And revealed her bare fruit
For a moment I wanted to know
Was I watching Skorpion Show?

I questioned his descent
Then heard the Trini accent
He sounded very smart
Unlike some who chat phart
Versed in the music industry
Excellent critics of the artistry

I loved his eloquence
He utters with intelligence
Hungry for more
I dug for another video
I saw there were more
It was a fungalore

I sought for him on Twitter
And got to know him better
I sent him my compliments
He replied to my amazement
See he aint allow internet fame
To make him hostile in d game

With the artist he's blunt
And the more their fans grunt
He aint licking no artist boots
He can care too hoots
He's not here for pop contest
To put his credibility in a mess

UWI educated
Trini Trent is very dedicated
Graduating with 1st class honours
He aint like ordinary bloggers
He major in communications
It shows in his presentation

Yet he seems so fun and humble
And his work so enjoyable
I love his light heartedness
Discussing issues full of sadness
His content is the best
With humour easy to digest

The Larva Lizard is a boss
Best website when am musically lost
The best touch of professionalism
In the world of music blogging
I love to share his page
So my world can parade his stage

Addicted to his show
You Tubers now you know
His accent and jokes tie meh
Mercy I can't get away
Want to see you on TV
Interviewing RihannaNavy

He's excellent yet he's hated
Why?His serving the truth is unadulterated
But he must to his job well
His conscience he will not sell
The artist is in the public eye
And don't need to be told a lie

The various stans come for him
Threatening to see his light go dim
The more he blocks their IP address
The more they multiply his distress
They need to get a life
Stop poking Trent with their knife

Soar my Caribbean lad
Keep rising even if they mad
Greater things in store for you
The beginning of what you can do
I'm proud of all you do
And so I say thank you!

AVRIL LAVIGNE'S NEW SINGLE: "Here's to Never Grow Up"

I am a fan of Canadian Avril Lavigne since her hit single "Complicated" in 2003. Ever since her music had been etched into my soul and will find me where ever I am. She sounds unlike anyone else in the music industry making her a unique musical gem. Ten years later she woes me again with yet another hit single "Here's To Never Grow up" released in April 2013 on iTunes and You Tube.

The first time I heard the song played on European Hit Radio I fell in love with it without knowing who the artist was. The voice was so young, fresh, full of life, and immediately puts me in a happy mood, whisking me off way back to my carefree years of growing up as a child in the Caribbean. I got a chance to relive my innocence and those days when worrying about my next meal, dress and other necessities was not my concern but my parent's  who were care takers. I reminisced having my teenage crushes and never wanted the time to end when we met.  Yes those were the best days of my life and am sure that Avril can attest to this hence the reason why this song was written.

And yes music was at the centre of my growing up. My sisters and I used to play the radio so loud and singing to the top of our lungs, and our parents screaming at us reminding us we are must abide by the rules of the house. As a child we did everything impromptu which of course include going places with friends whether or not it met our parent's approval.
Avril has really done justice to the lyrics with her well controlled vocal range, singing in the right key and with a child-like tone giving relevance to it.

Many of us adults often wish we never grow up when the challenges of life come knocking at our doors. Wishful thinking of course. This song is catchy and appeals to every generation. First to the adults who wish they can turn back the hands of time. Second to young people who need to think about freeing up a bit and enjoy their youth. Third to adults who refuse to grow up as demonstrated by their childish behaviour.
"IT STRIKES MY MIND" QUALITY
1. This song appeals to everyone.
2. The song has a catchy tagline "here's To Never Grow Up.
3. It provides a temporary escape from adult hardship and struggles.
4. It's a summer anthem - gets us in a happy mood

Congratulations to the lovely Avril for not falling short of excellence. I will strongly recommend this pop song to all. If you haven't bought the single yet here is the iTunes link >>

MICHELLE WILLIAMS NEW SINGLE: "IF WE HAD YOUR EYES"

WRITTEN BY HIT SONGS
Music lovers if you haven't heard the news yet, the lovely talented Michelle Williams from the Destiny's Child has released her first single of 2013 "If We Had Your Eyes" today June 24, 2013 via iTunes and Sound Clouds. Michelle took her announcement to twitter and solicited her followers' feed back about the new release. All of whom showered her with overwhelming support! So here is my two cents if it's worth your precious time.
First of all a huge shout out to The Skorpion Show on You Tube for having interviewed Miss Williams recently, affording her the opportunity to share her personal struggles along her musical journey with her fans. In retrospect this interview has given us a glimpse of the premise of this new song - human beings tendency to judge and condemn without having walked the road of the person being judged and failing to see things as God sees them.

This  song is unique and catchy in that I have never heard that catch phrase "If We Had Your Eyes" being belted out in a song before. The song appeals to everyone allowing us to stop for a moment and start looking at life through other people's and God's perspective/view for the world to be a better place. This song is reminiscent of "MAN IN THE MIRROR" by Michael Jackson where he suggests that looking at ourselves may point to the problem that needs changing. Michelle on the other hand is strongly advocating the other way around.
This song puts one in a reflective mode and may force one to start being more compassionate to others, listen to others more, and love more. These powerful lyrics can penetrate and heal marriage, work, and other types of relationships - realistically accomplished only by looking through God's eyes.
The genre portrayed in the song remains a mystique which makes it even more intriguing and interesting and will reach a wider market. It can work for Gospel, R&B, Pop, or Country.
"IT STRIKES MY MIND" CAPACITY
1. This song has a simple, catchy and memorable hook "If We Had Your Eyes" and will easily become any one's anthem.
2. The song  revolves around having God's eyes and other human eyes which makes it highly easy to relate to.
3. It points directly to our heart - the source of love, compassion, and other emotional needs.
Congratulations Michelle!!!!
