Krishna ‘Dada’ Lawrence ==> MUSIC PRODUCER => BLACK MUSIC MONTH #BlackHistoryMonth

 #4  MUSIC PRODUCER
Krishna ‘Dada’ Lawrence
Krishna Lawrence, better known as ‘Dada’ was born in the urban community of Bath Estate, DOMINICA, Caribbean. Growing up as a young boy, he held on firmly to the belief that he was destined to make a significant contribution to the music industry within his country Dominica and beyond. It was this perception which led him to compose his first musical arrangement at the tender age of
fourteen. This was soon followed by the creation of a vast number of beats and songs which he often shared with peers and other members of his community. By his late teens, Dada had already begun to make a name for himself as one of the most outstanding local producers of our native bouyon music. His unique style of bouyon brought a new flare to the genre and it soon began to catch the attention of many including various bouyon bands and artists. It was not long before he began working with the popular local bouyon band ‘Triple Kay’ with whom he has produced a number of beats and songs including tracks on their 2006 ‘All Out’ and 2007 ‘Pressure’ album. Dada’s bouyon creations also made an impact in the French territories, leading to further production of popular songs such as ‘Big Tings Poppin’ by renowned French artist ‘Daly’ which as of today has over 650, 000 VIEWS on You Tube.
As the years progressed Dada continued to work with local bands and artists including the original creators of bouyon music, ‘WCK’. In 2008, he performed with the group for a short time and demonstrated his multi-talented nature by being not only a producer but also a keyboardist for the band. He also went on to work with individual artists such as Mr. Derrick Rah Peters and once again produced a few successful singles such as the song ‘Quik Money’ and one of our modern Independence anthems ’Nou Wive’ which highlights both the bouyon and jing ping sound. This song also acted as a stepping stone for Dada to venture into the production of yet another of Dominica’s authentic and original sound, Cadence music. After a few more successful productions in the Cadence field, Mr. Lawrence was soon sought out by the Kings of Cadence themselves, the Midnight Groovers Band, to work on the production of their 2010 ’En ba Solieil-La’ album. He continues to work and perform with them locally and regionally until this day. Later in 2010, Dada experienced yet another accomplishment, when he produced an entire compilation of songs with elements of the cadence and zouk music, in the form of an album entitled Independence’. This album consisted of songs performed by a wide range of local artists namely, Elisha Benoit, Old Benz, Former Calypso Kings Deryck Hunter St. Rose and Dennison Dice Joseph, Gholda and De Mighty Akar. He also later went on to have further success with the Cadence genre of music as he was the producer behind the winning song of the 2013 NCCU Cadencelypso Competition, ’De Long Tongue’ by Cletus ‘Harlibut’ Abraham.
