"A RARE PRECIOUS ROSE"

As I stroll along God's rose garden one day,
I needed the rose that would brighten my day.
Those I saw were commonly used,...
Everyone of them I rejected and refused.
Then as I was about to quit my search,
For the roses to decorate my porch,
An angel rushed up to me,
Showing me one I did not see.
               
It was the first time I saw this rose,
Where it was hiding only heaven knows.
I questioned the angel to find out,
How this precious rose came about.

He said God designed her specially,
Structured her attributes quite uniquely.
A rarity amongst the rest,
I think she is the very best.

She is only spotted by discerning eyes,
Who knows her value and are very wise.
The smell of her aroma perfumes the air,
Filling my heart with joy and cheer.

Her thorns were the most dreadful,
Their tendency to prick painfully I was mindful.
Then I asked the angel to explain to me why,
Around this rose longest thorns sit by.

Then the angels said to me twice,
Precious things in life come with a price.
These roses are not an exception to the rule,
That is why they're not seen by fools.

I gazed in awe at all her splendour,
And for a split second I wished I was her.
Then a voice whispered and said to me.
I am the rose reflecting back at me.
